British Railways Southern Region 12 inch dial clock.

B.R.(S) No 11026  Ex Bournemouth West.

 

A 8 inch Oak cased iron dial clock Manufactured by Stockall, Marples & Co and supplied new to the Southern Region in 1950 at a cost of £7-16-6d.

 

Movement

The quality English fusee movement in fully overhauled condition has rectangular plates, which are held together by cylindrical pillars.

 

Case

An Oak case with a four piece turned surround, with a spun brass bezel.

 

Dial

An enamel painted iron dial with roman numerals bearing the legend B.R.(S) 11026

 

Railway history

The Southern Railway clock records show that this clock was located at Bournemouth West Road Motor Workshop. Bournemouth West was a former LSWR Station closed in 1965 and was used as the Terminus for the famous Somerset and Dorset Railway.
